Five seeds, water, a few minutes. That’s the whole thing.
Three honest things.
This sounds too simple to count, but it’s probably the biggest day-one effect. When skin is dehydrated, fine lines look deeper and the surface looks dull. Topping up your fluids won’t plump the deep dermis like a filler, but a body that isn’t running low on water tends to show it on the face. A flavored glass you look forward to is just an easier way to hit that than plain water you keep forgetting.
A lot of visible aging is oxidative damage: free radicals from sun, pollution and ordinary metabolism chip away at collagen over the years. Coriander, fennel and cumin all bring antioxidant compounds and a bit of vitamin C to the table. Vitamin C in particular is a cofactor your body needs to build collagen in the first place. The dose from one glass of seed water is modest, so treat this as a small daily top-up, not a serum you swallowed.
This is the most interesting part. Flax and basil seeds are loaded with ALA, a plant omega-3. Omega-3 fats support the skin’s barrier, the layer that holds moisture in and irritation out. A stronger barrier means skin that stays hydrated and calm, which reads as smoother and less crepey. Fair warning: the body converts plant ALA into the more active omega-3s pretty inefficiently, so this supports oily fish and other sources rather than replacing them.
Makes one glass. The seeds are forgiving, so eyeball it once you’ve made it a couple of times.

How to make it
Morning, on a fairly empty stomach, is the traditional way and it’s a perfectly good time. But don’t overthink the clock; consistency beats timing. One glass a day is plenty.
On results: skin is slow. If a daily habit is going to do anything visible, you’re looking at weeks, not days, and the change is “skin looks healthier and more hydrated”. If you want to know whether it’s doing anything for you, take a no-makeup morning photo now and compare in a month under the same light.
