Fuller, rounder glutes are a goal for many — and the good news is that you don’t need expensive supplements or surgeries to achieve them. Consistent targeted exercise combined with nourishing massage oils can help stimulate muscle growth, improve circulation, and firm your skin over time.
The glutes are made up of three muscles: the gluteus maximus, medius, and minimus. To build volume, you need to consistently challenge all three through progressive resistance training. Aim to train glutes 3–4 times per week for best results.
The king of glute exercises. Go deep (below parallel) to maximally activate the gluteus maximus. Keep your chest tall and drive through your heels as you rise.
4 sets × 15 reps
The most direct glute exercise you can do. Rest your upper back on a bench, place weight across your hips, and drive upward by squeezing your glutes hard at the top.
4 sets × 12 reps
Hinge at the hips while holding dumbbells or a barbell, lowering the weight along your legs. Feel the hamstrings and glutes stretch deeply, then squeeze as you return to standing.
3 sets × 10 reps
On all fours or using a cable machine, kick one leg back and upward, squeezing the glute at peak contraction. This isolates the gluteus maximus beautifully.
3 sets × 15 reps each side
Take a wide stance, toes turned out. Lower into a deep lunge, alternating legs. The wide stance shifts more emphasis to the glutes and inner thighs for a rounded shape.
3 sets × 12 reps each side
Use resistance bands around your knees during squats and kickbacks to recruit the gluteus medius — responsible for that lifted, side-rounded look.
Use daily
Muscles grow during recovery, not during training. Make sure you’re eating enough protein (aim for 1.6–2g per kg of bodyweight) and getting adequate sleep. Without sufficient calories and protein, even the best workout won’t build mass.
While oils cannot directly build muscle, regular massage with nourishing botanical oils can improve blood circulation to the area, promote skin elasticity, reduce the appearance of cellulite, and keep skin hydrated and supple — making your results look and feel even better.
Coconut oil deeply moisturizes while ginger stimulates circulation and has a gentle warming effect that may help with toning. This blend smells divine and absorbs beautifully.
Caffeine in coffee temporarily tightens skin and reduces puffiness, while olive oil nourishes deeply. This is one of the most popular natural remedies for firming skin.
Rosehip oil is packed with vitamins A and C which boost collagen production, while jojoba closely mimics skin’s natural sebum for deep, lasting moisture and improved elasticity.
Sweet almond oil is rich in vitamin E and fatty acids that nourish skin, while lemon essential oil brightens and tightens. This blend leaves skin glowing and smooth.
Consistency is everything. Here’s how to combine exercise and oils into a simple weekly routine that delivers results over time:
Always massage in upward, circular movements when applying oils. This supports lymphatic drainage, reduces fluid retention, and works with the skin’s natural structure. Spend at least 3–5 minutes per session for best results.
