Premature greying and white hair are often signs that your body lacks essential nutrients or that your scalp’s melanin cells have slowed down. While hair dyes give temporary results, herbal teas can naturally reverse greying from the inside.
This DIY herbal tea is made from a blend of potent Ayurvedic herbs like Bhringraj, Amla, Curry Leaves, Hibiscus, and Black Sesame Seeds, which are known to boost melanin production, strengthen hair follicles, and restore your hair’s original dark shade. When consumed regularly, this tea cleanses your blood, improves liver function, and reactivates pigment cells responsible for natural hair color.
Boil the Water
Pour 2 cups of water into a stainless steel pan and bring it to a gentle boil on medium heat.
Add the Herbal Ingredients
Add Bhringraj, Amla, curry leaves, hibiscus petals, fennel, fenugreek seeds, black sesame seeds, and cinnamon stick.
Simmer Slowly
Let the mixture simmer for 10–12 minutes on low heat until the water reduces to about 1½ cups and takes on a deep golden-brown or reddish hue (depending on the herbs used).
Strain the Tea
Turn off the heat and let the mixture cool slightly.
Strain using a fine mesh sieve or muslin cloth into a cup.
Add Sweetener (Optional)
You can add a teaspoon of honey or jaggery once the tea cools a bit (do not add to boiling water to preserve nutrients).
Drink 1 cup daily, preferably in the morning on an empty stomach or 30 minutes after lunch.
Continue for at least 8–12 weeks for visible results.
You can also use the remaining boiled herbs as a hair rinse after shampooing — just mix them with some warm water, strain, and pour over your scalp.
Bhringraj (The King of Hair):
Bhringraj revitalizes dormant hair follicles, increases melanin production, and prevents premature greying. It also strengthens hair roots and boosts blood circulation in the scalp.
Amla (Indian Gooseberry):
One of the best natural sources of vitamin C, Amla repairs damaged hair cells and promotes pigment regeneration. Regular intake slows greying and enhances natural shine.
Curry Leaves:
Rich in antioxidants and iron, curry leaves restore hair’s natural color by repairing damaged pigment cells and providing nourishment to follicles.
Hibiscus:
Known as the “flower of hair care,” hibiscus encourages new hair growth, retains natural color, and prevents thinning.
Black Sesame Seeds:
These tiny seeds are a powerhouse of copper, zinc, and iron — nutrients essential for melanin production. They help gradually darken existing grey hair when consumed regularly.
Fenugreek Seeds:
Provide protein and nicotinic acid, which reduce hair fall and rejuvenate hair cells for thicker, darker strands.
Fennel and Cinnamon:
These improve digestion and blood flow, ensuring better nutrient delivery to hair roots — one of the most overlooked factors for hair pigmentation.
