Flaxseeds Hair Growth Mask

Today I am going to share one of my favourite recipe that will not only boost your hair growth but will also give you super smooth silky hair without spending a single penny on salon. Flaxseeds also known as linseeds is the hero ingredient of this DIY.

Benefits of Flaxseeds for hair:

Rich in Vitamin E: Flaxseed acts as a shield to protect your scalp from harsh free radicals, thanks to its high vitamin E content. This helps maintain a healthy scalp and promotes overall hair health.

Nourishes Your Hair and Scalp: Flaxseed is a rich source of omega-3 fatty acids, which promote rapid hair growth and stimulate the hair shaft and follicle. This nourishment helps your hair grow stronger and healthier.

Reduces Breakage, Split Ends, and Dryness: The fatty acids in flaxseeds are essential for sustaining healthy hair growth. These nutrients penetrate the hair follicle, making your hair stronger and less brittle, thereby reducing breakage, split ends, and dryness.

Balances Oil Production and pH Levels: Flaxseed helps regulate the oil production and pH levels of your scalp, which affects the rate of hair growth. It stimulates the sebaceous glands to produce the necessary amount of oil needed for rapid hair growth.

Soothes Dry, Itchy Scalp: Flaxseed keeps your hair conditioned and frizz-free. It helps control breakage, dryness, and prevents split ends. Regular use of flaxseed can also prevent dandruff, hair loss, and scalp eczema, ensuring a healthier scalp.

How To Make Your Own Flaxseed Hair Mask

Things You Need:

  • ¼ cup of Flaxseed
  • 2 cups of water
  • Mixing bowl (a small container works too)
  • 2 tablespoons of Carrier Oil (optional)

Directions:

  1. Pour ¼ cup of flaxseed into 2 cups of water.
  2. On medium heat, bring to a boil for about 8-10 minutes.
  3. Stir consistently to ensure the flaxseeds don’t stick to the bottom of the saucepan.
  4. Keep monitoring until a thick gel, similar to egg-white consistency, is achieved.
  5. Remove from heat and allow to cool. The gel will thicken during the cooling phase.
  6. Using stockings/pantyhose or a strainer, grab your bowl/container and pour the mixture into the strainer over the bowl.
  7. Using a spoon or clean hands, squeeze as much liquid or gel from the mixture.
  8. Optionally, you can add aloe vera gel and a few drops of your favorite essential oil to your mixture.
  9. Pour your freshly squeezed flaxseed gel into an air-tight container or glass jar and store in the refrigerator for 5-7 days.

How To Use:

  1. Split your hair into four sections (this will make it easier to apply the gel).
  2. Distribute the flaxseed gel mixture evenly onto your hair.
  3. Massage the flaxseed gel into your scalp, hair shaft, and all the way to the hair ends.
  4. Place a shower cap on your head and let it sit for 1-2 hours or as long as desired.
  5. Cleanse with your favorite shampoo and conditioner.
  6. Allow your hair to air dry or blow dry, depending on your preference.
