Clove Babyoil Rosemary Serum: For Thin To Thick Eyebrows

Sparse, over-plucked, or naturally thin eyebrows can make the face look less defined and older than it really is. Rather than turning to expensive brow-growth serums that often contain harsh chemicals, you can blend a few kitchen and bathroom staples into a gentle, nightly treatment that coaxes dormant follicles back to life. Clove brings antioxidant eugenol to protect and stimulate growth, rosemary encourages micro-circulation around the roots, and baby oil keeps the delicate brow area moisturised without clogging pores. When these core ingredients are reinforced with castor oil, coconut oil, vitamin E, and aloe vera, the result is a nutrient-dense serum that promotes visibly fuller, shinier, and stronger brows in as little as four to six weeks of consistent use.

Ingredients Required

(Makes roughly 30 ml / 1 fl oz of serum)

  • 1 tablespoon whole cloves or 15 drops high-quality clove essential oil

  • 30 ml unscented baby oil (refined mineral-oil base)

  • 8 drops rosemary essential oil

  • ½ teaspoon cold-pressed castor oil

  • ½ teaspoon virgin coconut oil

  • Oil from 2 soft-gel vitamin E capsules (about 1 ml total)

  • 1 teaspoon pure aloe vera gel

  • Optional: 2 drops peppermint essential oil for a light, circulation-boosting tingle

Procedure

  1. Warm the base

    • Pour the baby oil into a clean heat-safe glass beaker or small saucepan.

    • Warm gently over a double boiler or very low flame to about 45 °C—just warm to the touch, never smoking.

  2. Infuse with clove

    • Add the whole cloves to the warm oil.

    • Maintain gentle heat for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally so eugenol diffuses evenly.

    • The oil may take on a pale amber hue and a mild spicy aroma.

  3. Cool and strain

    • Remove from heat and let the mixture reach room temperature.

    • Strain out the clove pieces with fine muslin or a coffee filter, collecting the infused oil in a sterile bowl.

  4. Blend nourishing add-ins

    • Stir in castor oil, coconut oil, the pierced vitamin E capsules, and aloe vera gel.

    • Whisk or shake until the mixture looks uniform and no gel clumps remain.

  5. Finish with essential oils

    • Add rosemary (and optional peppermint) essential oil.

    • Swirl gently to distribute—avoid vigorous shaking, which can trap bubbles.

  6. Bottle and store

    • Decant into a dark glass dropper bottle to protect the actives from light.

    • Label with the date; stored in a cool cupboard, the serum remains potent for up to four months.

Instructions

  1. Patch-test first

    • Dab a small amount behind the ear or on the inner arm.

    • Wait 24 hours to ensure no redness or irritation appears.

  2. Nightly application

    • Cleanse your face and remove all makeup.

    • Place one drop of serum on a clean spoolie brush or cotton bud.

    • Comb through each eyebrow, making sure the roots and underlying skin are lightly coated.

  3. Massage and absorb

    • Gently massage each brow with fingertip circles for 30 seconds.

    • This boosts blood flow and helps the oils penetrate the follicle openings.

  4. Leave on overnight

    • The mineral-oil base seals nutrients in place while you sleep.

    • Rinse off with a mild cleanser in the morning to prevent daytime shine.

  5. Frequency and expectations

    • Apply five to six nights per week.

    • Most people notice softer, glossier brow hairs in two weeks and fuller density in four to six weeks of consistent use.

Benefits of the DIY Serum

  • Stimulates dormant follicles – Clove’s eugenol and rosemary’s natural vasodilators wake up slow-growing hairs, extending the active growth phase.

  • Deeply conditions and strengthens – Castor oil’s ricinoleic acid bonds with hair proteins, while coconut oil penetrates the shaft to reduce breakage.

  • Locks in moisture without clogging – Baby oil forms a light occlusive layer, guarding against dryness and flakiness around the brows.

  • Shields against free radicals – Vitamin E adds an antioxidant buffer that keeps delicate brow hairs flexible and resilient.

  • Soothes skin and balances pH – Aloe vera calms any micro-inflammation, ensuring a healthy environment for new growth.

  • Cost-effective and customisable – All components are inexpensive, widely available, and can be adjusted to suit sensitive skin (simply reduce clove drops or add more aloe).

Final Word

A thick brow revival doesn’t have to come from pricey commercial serums. With a few everyday ingredients and a dedicated nightly routine, you can nurse thin, patchy arches back to lush, face-framing fullness—naturally, affordably, and safely. Consistency is your secret weapon: treat your brows the way you would nurture a garden, and watch them flourish.
