Apply This Hair Mask for Glass Hair In 10 Minutes

Dreaming of ultra-smooth, high-shine “glass hair” without stepping into a salon? You’re in luck. This DIY hair mask is your secret weapon for achieving that glossy, mirror-like finish right at home.

With a blend of natural ingredients that hydrate, smooth, and nourish, this mask transforms dull, frizzy strands into sleek, shiny perfection — instantly. And the star ingredient? Flaxseed gel — a natural, nutrient-rich powerhouse that adds stunning shine and strength.

Ingredients Required

You’ll need the following simple, hair-loving ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons aloe vera gel (fresh or store-bought)

  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil (cold-pressed)

  • 1 tablespoon argan oil (optional, but adds extra shine)

  • 1 tablespoon plain yogurt (for smoothing and protein)

  • 1 teaspoon glycerin (locks in moisture)

  • 1 egg yolk (rich in protein and fats)

  • 2 tablespoons flax seeds (to make flaxseed gel)

  • 1 cup water (for boiling flax seeds)

Vegan or egg-free? Replace the egg yolk with 1 tablespoon mashed avocado.

Procedure

  1. Make the Flaxseed Gel: In a saucepan, boil 2 tablespoons of flax seeds in 1 cup of water over medium heat. Stir frequently until the mixture thickens into a gel (about 5–7 minutes). Strain out the seeds using a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth and let the gel cool.

  2. In a bowl, combine the egg yolk, aloe vera gel, yogurt, coconut oil, argan oil, and glycerin.

  3. Add 1–2 tablespoons of the cooled flaxseed gel to the mix.

  4. Whisk everything until you get a creamy, smooth texture.

Instructions

  1. Start with Damp Hair: Lightly dampen your hair to help the mask spread and absorb better.

  2. Apply the Mask: Section your hair and apply the mask generously from roots to ends. Focus on dry or damaged areas.

  3. Massage Gently: Spend 2–3 minutes massaging the mask into your scalp to boost circulation and absorption.

  4. Wrap & Wait: Cover with a shower cap or warm towel and let it sit for 30–45 minutes.

  5. Rinse Thoroughly: Wash out with a mild sulfate-free shampoo. Use cool water — especially important if you used egg — to avoid any cooking smells.

  6. Finish & Style: Let your hair air-dry or blow-dry on low heat for a silky, glass-like finish.

Benefits

  • Instant Shine: Flaxseed gel and argan oil coat each strand with a reflective, light-catching finish.

  • Frizz Tamer: Aloe vera, egg, and yogurt smooth the cuticle, reducing flyaways and making hair ultra-manageable.

  • Deep Moisture: Glycerin and coconut oil hydrate the hair deeply, keeping it soft and silky for days.

  • Stronger Hair: The protein from egg and yogurt, plus omega-3s from flax seeds, help fortify strands and minimize breakage.

  • Natural Nourishment: No silicones or chemicals — just clean, effective ingredients that work with your hair, not against it.

With just one use, you’ll notice your hair looks glossier, feels softer, and moves like silk. Repeat this treatment once a week and watch your strands transform into the ultimate glass hair goals!
