3 Nights Challenge With Homemade Night Glow Serum

Nighttime skincare should be distinctly different from your daytime routine. During the day, your skin is exposed to many harmful things like pollution, UV rays, and harsh weather conditions. Therefore, it’s best to use lightweight, water-based products to protect and hydrate your skin. However, at night, your skin is in repair mode, and this is the ideal time to focus on deeply nourishing and rejuvenating your skin. This is when you can include richer, lightweight oils in your routine to enhance hydration and repair.

Today, I’ll share two simple, all-natural DIY night serums — one for normal to oily skin and another for dry skin. These serums are made from organic ingredients that will transform your skin overnight, leaving it glowing and refreshed. So, without further ado, let’s dive into these easy recipes!

Night Serum for Normal to Oily Skin

This lightweight serum is perfect for normal to oily skin. It helps to hydrate your skin without clogging pores, providing a balanced, fresh feel.

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon Aloe Vera Gel
  • 2-3 tablespoons Rose Water
  • A pinch of Turmeric Powder
  • 2-3 drops Jojoba Oil

Instructions:

  1. In a clean bowl, take 1 tablespoon of aloe vera gel. Aloe vera is hydrating and soothing, making it a great base for your serum.
  2. Add 2-3 tablespoons of rose water. Rose water is known for its calming and anti-inflammatory properties, and it also helps balance the skin’s pH.
  3. Add a pinch of turmeric powder. Turmeric is packed with antioxidants that help fight signs of aging, reduce inflammation, and brighten the skin.
  4. Finally, add 2-3 drops of jojoba oil. Jojoba oil closely mimics the natural oils of the skin, providing lightweight hydration without causing breakouts.

Mix all the ingredients well, and your DIY night serum for normal to oily skin is ready to use!

Night Serum for Dry Skin

For dry skin, a nourishing, rich serum is essential to lock in moisture and keep your skin hydrated overnight. This simple recipe includes sweet almond oil and vitamin E oil, both of which are incredibly hydrating and restorative.

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon Sweet Almond Oil
  • A few drops of Vitamin E Oil

Instructions:

  1. In a clean bowl, mix 1 tablespoon of sweet almond oil. Sweet almond oil is rich in vitamins and fatty acids, making it ideal for deeply moisturizing and softening dry skin.
  2. Add a few drops of vitamin E oil, which is a powerful antioxidant that helps to repair damaged skin and improve elasticity.

Mix the two ingredients well, and your DIY night serum for dry skin is ready to apply!

How to Use Your Night Serum

Now that your serum is ready, here’s how to incorporate it into your nighttime routine for optimal results:

  1. Double Cleanse: Start by thoroughly cleansing your face to remove all dirt, makeup, and impurities. A double cleanse is especially important at night, as it ensures your skin is clean and prepped to absorb the nourishing serum.
  2. Pat Dry: After cleansing, gently pat your face dry with a clean towel, leaving your skin slightly damp. This helps the serum absorb better.
  3. Apply the Serum: Take a few drops of your homemade serum (adjust based on your skin type) and gently rub it between your palms to warm it up. Then, gently massage it onto your face and neck. Focus on areas that feel especially dry or tired.
  4. Gentle Massage: Give your face a soft, soothing massage for a few minutes to help the serum penetrate deeper into your skin. This massage not only enhances circulation but also promotes relaxation.
  5. Rest: After applying the serum, you’re all set to go to bed! Allow the serum to work its magic while you sleep. When you wake up, you’ll notice refreshed, glowing, and well-hydrated skin.
