Home Remedies To Treat Oily Skin

Oily skin, especially during the summer months, can be a major issue.
It can contribute to open pores, whiteheads, blackheads, and acne if not taken care of.

So let’s start with the 1st remedy
To make this, you’ll need:

  • 2 teaspoons of lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons of water
  • 1 teaspoon of glycerin (optional)
  • Cotton balls
  1. Take an empty toner bottle and mix 2 teaspoons of lemon juice with 2 teaspoons of distilled water.
  2. If you have sensitive skin, you can also add 1 teaspoon of glycerine to the mixture.

Lemons are rich in citric acid, which helps to eliminate pores and regulates the production of sebum.
Lemons also possess astringent properties that help to control the oil production on the skin.

To Use:

  1. Wash your face and apply the mixture to your face with the cotton ball. Leave it on for about 20-30 minutes, and then rinse it off.
  2. You can do this 1-2 times a week.

Now let’s move with the 2nd remedy
To make this, you’ll need:

  • Oatmeal
  • Honey/ Curd
  1. Take 1 cup of oatmeal and make a fine powder of it.
  2. Take 1 tablespoon of this oats powder and store the rest in an airtight container.
  3. Now mix it with enough honey or some plain curd.
  4. Curd or honey will act as a humidifier that tells the sebum glands to make less oil than normal.
  5. Mix and make a mild scrub.

One of the quick but highly effective home remedies for oily skin is oatmeal.
To soak up excess oil and impurities from the skin, it has high absorbent properties.
Oatmeal also acts as a gentle scrub that can clear the nose and forehead from dead cells and blackheads.

To Use:

  1. Wash your face to remove any impurities and massage it to your skin as a scrub.
  2. Very gently rub it for 3-5 minutes in a circular motion.
  3. Wash off after 5 minutes.
  4. After exfoliating, moisturize your skin using your favorite face moisturizer.
  5. Repeat the remedy once a week for healthy and glowing skin and to keep excess oil at bay.

Now moving to our 3rd remedy
To make this, you’ll need:

  • Rice flour
  • Eggs
  1. If you wish to cleanse and extract the oil from your skin, rice flour and eggs are an excellent combination.
  2. In a bowl, mix 2 tablespoons of rice flour and 1 egg white and mix it well to create a cleanser.

The nourishing vitamins and amino acids found in rice help to brighten your skin tone.
The egg helps to regulate the production of sebum and to reduce pore size.
It also serves as an absorber and cleanses the skin, giving you a smooth, well-hydrated, silky look.

To Use:

  1. Damp your face with normal water and take this cleanser and apply it to your damp skin.

It works like a foam cleanser and washes all the extra oil away.

It also offers a gentle, creamy texture to the skin that leaves your face feeling clean and fresh.
