HOW TO GET RID OF PIMPLES ON LIPS

Pimples on the lips can be caused due to multiple reasons. Some of these include using expired lip products or an allergic reaction to certain ingredients present in lipsticks and lip balms. Sometimes pimples may be caused due to the fluoride present in toothpaste as well. However, just like treating pimples present on other areas of the face, the pimples on the lips can be treated effectively as well using the following home remedies:

Turmeric and honey paste

Turmeric is anti-bacterial in nature and helps to clear out pimples. Honey is also very effective in healing pimples faster without drying the skin out.

Ingredients: 

  • ½ teaspoon of turmeric powder
  • ½ teaspoon of rose water
  • 1 teaspoon of honey

How to:

  1. Add the rosewater to the turmeric powder to make a paste.
  2. Now add honey to this paste.
  3. Once all the ingredients are well combined, warm up the mixture a little bit for a few seconds. 
  4. Clean the area around the pimple. 
  5. Apply the prepared paste directly on the pimple using your fingertip or a cotton Q-tip.
  6. Let the mixture stay on the pimple for about 30 minutes.
  7. Wipe off the mixture gently using a wet tissue or a wet cloth.
  8. Repeat this remedy at least 2 times a day until the pimple goes away.

Tea tree oil

Tea tree oil is a very popular ingredient used for keeping away pimples and acne. Its anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties help to get rid of the pimple faster and prevent it from increasing in size. Gram flour helps to dry out the pimple.

Ingredients:

  • 1 teaspoon of tea tree oil
  • 1 teaspoon of gram flour
  • 2-3teaspoons of rosewater

How to:

  1. Simply combine all the ingredients together to obtain a smooth paste.
  2. You may add more rose water if required.
  3. Clean the area around the pimple.
  4. Apply the tea tree oil paste on the pimple using your fingertip.
  5. Wash the area with plain water after 15 minutes.
  6. Use this remedy once a day until the pimple is healed.

Caution: do not use tea tree essential oil for this remedy. Use the diluted tea tree oil instead.

Aspirin paste

Aspirin contains salicylic acid. This helps to mildly exfoliate the skin and remove any dirt or impurity which could be causing the pimple. Salicylic acid also helps to dry out the pimple very fast and reduce its appearance from the first application.

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablet of aspirin
  • A few drops of water

How to:

  1. Make a paste by adding a few drops of water to the aspirin tablet. 
  2. Make sure you do not add too much water.
  3. Apply the paste onto the pimple using your fingertip.
  4. Let the paste dry out completely. This will take about 10 minutes.
  5. Wipe out the paste using a wet cloth or wet tissue.
  6. Repeat this remedy 2 times a day until the pimple is healed.

Lemon juice

Lemon juice acts as an effective astringent and helps reduce the pimple.

Ingredients:

  • ½ teaspoon of lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon of orange peel powder
  • 1 teaspoon of water

How to:

  1. Mix the orange peel powder with water to make a thick paste.
  2. Add the lemon juice and mix well.
  3. Apply the paste on the pimple directly using your fingertip. 
  4. Wash the paste using plain water after 20 minutes.
  5. Repeat this remedy two times a day until the pimple is reduced.

Fuller’s earth paste

Fuller’s earth helps to absorb any dirt or excess oil which causes pimples. Neem powder contains powerful antibacterial compounds.

Ingredients:

  • ½ teaspoon of fuller’s earth.
  • ½ teaspoon of neem powder
  • 2 teaspoons of water

How to:

  1. Simply combine all the ingredients together to obtain a smooth paste.
  2. Apply this paste onto the pimple using your fingertip.
  3. Allow the paste to dry.
  4. Remove the paste using a wet tissue or a wet cloth.
  5. Repeat this remedy two times a day until the pimple is gone.
