Clove Coffee Oil: 4X Hair Growth, Thin To Thick Hair

If your strands feel limp, weak, and sparse, this powerful kitchen-friendly oil brings together clove and coffee—two energizing ingredients loved in DIY hair care—to help hair look fuller, feel stronger, and behave better. Clove’s eugenol and coffee’s caffeine are paired with a blend of penetrating and sealing oils plus classic Indian boosters to reduce breakage, nourish the scalp, and create the appearance of thicker, denser hair over time. Results vary from person to person, but a consistent routine with this formula can make “thin to thick” feel within reach.

Ingredients required

(Makes ~150–180 ml)

  • Cold-pressed coconut oil – ½ cup (120 ml)

  • Castor oil – 2 tbsp

  • Clove buds (lightly crushed) – 1 tbsp

  • Coffee (coarsely ground or lightly crushed beans) – 1 tbsp

  • Fenugreek (methi) seeds – 1 tsp

  • Black seeds (kalonji) – 1 tsp

  • Fresh curry leaves – 8–10 leaves (pat dry)

  • Vitamin E – 2 capsules (optional, for antioxidant support)

  • Rosemary essential oil – 6–8 drops (optional, for scalp feel)

  • Amla powder – 1 tsp (optional, for added strengthening)

All ingredients are commonly available in Indian kitchens or nearby stores. You may swap coconut oil for light sesame, olive, or almond oil if preferred; those with very fine hair can use MCT/fractionated coconut oil for a lighter feel.

Procedure

Method A: Gentle double-boiler infusion (same-day use)

  1. In a heat-safe bowl, combine coconut oil and castor oil.

  2. Add clove, coffee, fenugreek, black seeds, curry leaves, and (optional) amla.

  3. Place the bowl over a pot of gently simmering water (double-boiler). Keep the oil temperature warm—not smoking—around 60–70 °C.

  4. Infuse for 40–60 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes. The oil will deepen in color and release a warm, spicy aroma.

  5. Remove from heat; cool to lukewarm.

  6. Strain through a fine sieve or muslin to remove solids.

  7. Stir in Vitamin E and rosemary essential oil (if using).

  8. Decant into a dark, clean bottle. Label with the date.

Method B: No-heat cold infusion (maximum potency)

  1. Add all dry botanicals to a clean glass jar; pour in the oils.

  2. Seal and keep in a cool, shaded spot for 10–14 days. Shake the jar daily.

  3. Strain, add Vitamin E and rosemary EO, and bottle as above.

Storage: Keep tightly closed, away from light and heat. Shelf life: 2–3 months when handled cleanly.

Instructions

  • Patch test first: Dab a little behind the ear/inner arm for 24 hours. Avoid use on broken/irritated scalp.

  • How to apply (pre-wash treatment):

    1. Warm 1–2 tsp between palms.

    2. Section hair; apply to scalp with fingertips or a dropper.

    3. Massage 5–7 minutes in small circles to boost circulation.

    4. Smooth a few drops through mid-lengths and ends.

    5. Leave on 1–2 hours (or overnight if comfortable).

    6. Shampoo out; condition lightly.

  • Frequency: 2–3 times per week for 8–12 weeks, then 1–2 times weekly for maintenance.

  • Hot-towel boost: Wrap a warm towel over oiled hair for 10 minutes to enhance penetration.

  • For thin/fine hair: Use less product (½–1 tsp) and focus on scalp; choose MCT/fractionated coconut base to avoid weight.

  • For dry/curly hair: Add a few drops of almond or argan oil to the ends after washing to lock in shine.

  • Oily/scalp-sensitive: Reduce clove to ½ tbsp and keep curry leaves minimal; rinse thoroughly.

  • Consistency tip: Photograph your hair once every 2 weeks in the same light to track thickness and shine.

Benefits

  • Clove buds (eugenol-rich): Refresh the scalp environment and help reduce product-build-up feel; their spicy antioxidants support a cleaner, balanced scalp—key for fuller-looking hair.

  • Coffee (caffeine): Invigorates the scalp and improves the look of density and volume; helps hair appear livelier and less limp.

  • Castor oil: Thick, occlusive, and rich in ricinoleic acid—great for reducing breakage, protecting fragile ends, and giving hair a denser, glossier appearance.

  • Coconut oil: A penetrative oil that helps reduce protein loss from strands, leaving hair smoother and more resilient.

  • Fenugreek seeds: Naturally slick and conditioning; their mucilage coats hair to minimize tangles and snap-offs, aiding length retention.

  • Black seed (kalonji): Traditional scalp-care favorite that complements clove’s clarifying feel and supports scalp comfort.

  • Curry leaves & amla: Antioxidant-rich botanicals used in Indian hair rituals to support stronger-looking roots and a healthy sheen.

  • Vitamin E & Rosemary EO (optional): Antioxidant and stimulating sensory notes that round out the blend.

Why it works together: This formula targets the two biggest barriers to thicker-looking hair—breakage and flatness. The oil blend nourishes and shields strands so you keep the length you grow, while clove-coffee energizes the scalp for fuller volume and a healthier look. With consistent use, many people notice less hair on the brush, better shine, and a visible boost in body.
