Amla Clove Serum: Get New Hair In Bald Patches
If you’re noticing thinning spots or early bald patches, a targeted, nutrient-dense scalp serum can help revive dormant follicles, calm inflammation, and create a healthier environment for regrowth. This Amla–Clove Serum blends powerful, easily available Indian kitchen/apothecary staples—amla (Indian gooseberry) for its antioxidant punch, clove for its scalp-stimulating and antimicrobial properties, and a smart mix of oils and herbs that improve circulation, fight dandruff, and strengthen roots. Made correctly, it’s lightweight enough to use several times a week without making your scalp greasy.
Ingredients Required:
-
Amla (powder or fresh pulp) – 2 tbsp
-
Cloves – 1 tbsp
-
Fenugreek (methi) seeds – 1 tbsp (lightly crushed or soaked)
-
Fresh curry leaves – 10–12 leaves
-
Neem leaves (fresh or powder) – 1 tbsp
-
Cold-pressed coconut oil – 4 tbsp (carrier + penetrative oil)
-
Castor oil – 2 tbsp (thickens hair, slows shedding)
-
Pure aloe vera gel – 2 tbsp (to make the final serum lighter and soothing)
-
Vitamin E capsules – 2 (optional but recommended for stability and shine)
-
Rosemary essential oil – 6–8 drops (optional booster for circulation; skip if not available)
(This gives you ~100 ml of serum, depending on how well you strain.)
Procedure
-
Make the herbal oil concentrate
-
In a clean double boiler (or a heavy-bottom pan on the lowest flame), add coconut oil + castor oil.
-
Add amla, cloves, fenugreek, curry leaves, and neem.
-
Warm gently for 20–30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Do not let it smoke; the goal is a gentle infusion, not frying the herbs.
-
Switch off the heat and let it sit covered for another 20 minutes to cool and steep further.
-
-
Strain
-
Strain the oil through a fine mesh or muslin cloth to remove all solids. You now have a potent amla–clove herbal oil.
-
-
Turn it into a serum
-
Once the infused oil is completely cool, whisk it with aloe vera gel until it forms a light, biphasic serum (it will separate slightly—shake before each use).
-
Pierce vitamin E capsules and squeeze the oil into the serum.
-
Add rosemary essential oil if you’re using it. Mix well.
-
-
Bottle & store
-
Pour into a dark glass dropper bottle.
-
Label with the date. Store in a cool, dark place.
-

Tip: Pair this serum with a nutrient-dense diet (protein, iron, zinc, B vitamins) and gentle scalp hygiene. If hair loss is severe or rapidly progressive, consult a dermatologist or trichologist to rule out underlying medical causes (thyroid, anemia, hormonal imbalance, alopecia areata, etc.). Consistency plus the right diagnosis is the real growth hack.
