Homemade orange oil for spotless skin
In this post I will share, how can you make your own vitamin C oil at home with fresh oranges. Store-bought orange oil can be quite expensive, but making it yourself is not only cost-effective but also ensures it’s completely natural and highly beneficial. This essential oil has a soothing aroma and offers numerous benefits for both skin care and cooking. Let’s dive into the recipe!
Ingredients & Preparation:
- 2 fresh oranges
- 2 tablespoons virgin coconut oil (or virgin olive oil/almond oil)
- Salt for cleaning
- Fine grater
- Small pan
- Glass jar for storage
Instructions:

Start by thoroughly cleaning the oranges. Add salt to water and soak the oranges for 10 minutes to remove any pesticides and dust.

Rub the oranges well, rinse them 2-3 times in fresh water, and dry them thoroughly using tissue paper.

Using a fine grater, grate the outer orange layer of the peel. Avoid including the white partYou should get about one full tablespoon of zest from two oranges.

In a small pan, add 2 tablespoons of virgin coconut oil (you can also use virgin olive oil, almond oil, or a mix of coconut and almond oil).

Add the orange zest to the oil and mix well. Heat water in a separate pan until it boils. Place the oil container in the hot water and turn off the heat.

Let the heat from the water slowly infuse the orange essence into the oil. Reheat the water if needed and repeat the process.

Allow the oil to cool completely (this takes around 3-4 hours).

Strain the oil using a fine cotton cloth. Store the orange oil in a small glass jar.
Uses & Benefits:
This pure orange essential oil is not cooked, preserving all its natural nutrients and aroma. For enhanced benefits, add one Vitamin E capsule (available at medical stores) to the oil, mix well, and store properly. Apply the oil at night after cleansing your face, massaging in circular motions. It’s lightweight and non-greasy.
