Most of you might know that the main reason for male and female pattern hair loss is DHT (dihydrotestosterone) combined with genetic factors. Before we dive into the remedy, let’s understand the phases of hair growth.

Hair Growth Phases

There are three phases in the hair growth cycle:

1. Anagen (Growth Phase): In this phase, the hair keeps growing in length. Usually, 90% of the hair you see is in the anagen phase, which typically lasts for four to six years.

2. Catagen (Transition Phase): In this phase, hair moves from the growth to the shedding phase. This lasts around two weeks. You don’t feel any difference in the hair during this phase, but it is actually transitioning.

3. Telogen (Shedding Phase): When you comb your hair, shampoo, or pull it a little bit, you might notice some hair comes off. This is the shedding phase, and it is supposed to fall out. This phase lasts around three months. After this, the three phases repeat.

Ideally, in the next cycle, the new hair will have the same thickness and length as the previous hair. However, if you have genetic hair loss or pattern hair loss, the new hair will be much smaller and thinner. After three to four cycles, the follicle stops producing new hair, leading to a shining bald area.

Our aim should be to increase the time spent in the growth phase beyond six years and increase the strength of new hair produced in every cycle. That way, you can prevent baldness and even reverse hair loss.

Super Effective DHT Blocker Serum

In this post, we are going to make a super effective DHT blocker serum that increases the amount of time the follicle spends in the growth phase and promotes newer and thicker hair, increases hair density, and prevents hair loss and baldness.

Ingredients

1. Saw Palmetto Capsules: Saw palmetto is a wonderful natural herb that is very powerful in treating baldness and reversing pattern baldness or alopecia. It is the best natural DHT blocker.

2. Stinging Nettle Root Teabags: Stinging nettle is a natural DHT blocker and prevents free radical damage in the scalp. According to studies, stinging nettle acts like finasteride but without undesirable side effects.

3. Black Pepper: Black pepper is a hair growth stimulant. It improves blood circulation, strengthens hair follicles, and triggers faster hair growth according to Ayurveda.

4. Vodka: Saw palmetto is highly soluble only in alcohol, which is why we are using vodka here. Vodka helps in balancing hair pH, prevents frizz, and adds shine to the hair.

Instructions

1. Prepare Saw Palmetto Concentrate:

   • Take ten capsules of saw palmetto (450 mg each).
   • Open them and collect the saw palmetto content onto a sheet of plain paper.
   • Cut open two green tea bags and throw away the contents inside. We just need the empty tea bags.
   • Fill these empty tea bags with the saw palmetto powder using a spoon. When the bag is full, close it with the help of a stapler.
   • Place these two saw palmetto bags in a glass bowl and fill it with a quarter cup of vodka.
   • Set it aside for a minimum of four hours so that the saw palmetto is fully dissolved in the vodka.
   • After four hours, you will see that the vodka is fully infused with saw palmetto. Note the color change to a slightly brown color.
   • Squeeze the bags gently to extract more liquid and then throw away these bags. This is a powerful and highly concentrated DHT blocker serum.

2. Prepare Stinging Nettle Tea:

   • In a separate bowl, take 1/2 cup of distilled water and add 1 tablespoon of black peppercorn to this.
   • Bring this to a boil on a low flame. Once it starts rolling boil, add 2 tea bags of stinging nettle.
   • Wait for it to boil for one more minute and then switch off the stove.
   • Wait for these contents to completely cool down. Now, squeeze the teabags gently to extract all the liquid from it.
   • In a separate jar, strain these contents and mix the prepared saw palmetto concentrate into this. This is the final hair growth serum.

3. Storage and Usage:

   • Collect the serum into a spray bottle. For this purpose, you can also reuse your old minoxidil spray bottles.
   • Use this spray three times a day: morning, afternoon, and at night. Make sure you apply this spray on the scalp. Typically, you need 8 to 10 sprays to cover the entire scalp and bald patches.
   • Please store it in the fridge. This will be good for up to 1 month when stored in the fridge.

Using this regularly promotes hair regrowth and increases hair density by increasing blood circulation and by blocking topical DHT. This can be used by both women and men and works effectively for androgenetic alopecia and areata hair loss.

Note: If you are using minoxidil and you still want to continue using it, maintain a gap between minoxidil and this spray. Also, when using the spray, you may temporarily feel your hair is thinning more. This is common as wet hair gives the appearance of thinning hair. But after you shampoo, you will notice an improvement in your hair density and new hair regrowth.
