Tired of hair fall, thinning, or slow hair growth? Nature has already provided us with powerful herbs that can transform our hair health. This DIY hair growth oil blends three of the most trusted Ayurvedic ingredients—Aloe Vera, Amla, and Curry Leaves—into one potent homemade treatment. Rich in antioxidants, vitamins, and essential fatty acids, this oil deeply nourishes the scalp, strengthens roots, and stimulates new hair growth without any chemicals.

Let’s learn how to make this 100% natural hair growth booster at home!

Ingredients Required

  • 2 tablespoons aloe vera gel (freshly scooped or store-bought pure)
  • 1/2 cup coconut oil (or sesame oil for a more cooling effect)
  • 1 tablespoon castor oil (for thickness and volume)
  • 1/4 cup amla pieces or 2 tablespoons dried amla powder
  • 15-20 fresh curry leaves
  • Optional: 5 drops rosemary or lavender essential oil (for added stimulation & fragrance)

Procedure

  • If using fresh aloe vera, slice one thick leaf, scrape out the gel, and blend it until smooth. Set aside 2 tablespoons.
  • In a thick-bottomed pan or iron kadai, pour in the coconut oil and castor oil.
  • Add chopped fresh amla pieces (or powder) and fresh curry leaves.
  • Heat on low flame. Let the ingredients slowly release their nutrients into the oil.
  • Once the curry leaves turn crisp and the oil is gently bubbling, add the blended aloe vera gel carefully.
  • Stir continuously to prevent the gel from splashing or sticking to the pan.
  • Let the oil simmer for about 8–10 minutes, until the mixture starts turning dark and aromatic.
  • Turn off the heat and let it cool completely.
  • Strain the oil using a fine cloth or sieve into a clean, dry glass bottle.
  • Add essential oil if using.
  • Store in a cool, dark place for up to 2 months.

Instructions for Use

  • Warm a small amount of the oil before applying.
  • Massage gently into your scalp for 5–10 minutes to improve blood circulation.
  • Apply to the lengths of your hair as well.
  • Leave it on for at least 1–2 hours or preferably overnight.
  • Wash off with a mild herbal shampoo.
  • Use 2–3 times a week consistently for visible results in 4–6 weeks.
