Today in this post, I will share a minimalist morning skin care routine, that works best for oily and acne prone skin
Oily skin needs some extra care, to make your skin less reactive for acne and breakouts.
Oily skin types exist when there is an overproduction of sebum from the sebaceous glands of the dermis which gives a shine and greasy look to the skin. This hyperactivity produces excess oils that overfill the pores and enlarge them. It is the main cause behind breakouts, and blackheads on your face.
The best way to address oily skin types and reduce acne is to follow a routine that helps balance out the oil production on the skin while keeping it well hydrated and avoid any disruption on the dermis barrier.
So now without any further delay lets start with our article, first step of morning skin care routine is cleansing
Use a mild water-soluble facial cleanser to remove excess oils and avoid buildup in the pores.
You can also use natural face cleanser, that deep cleanse your skin pores
Lemon is rich in citric acid, that works great for oily skin, when combined with honey.
While lemon will help treat acne, cleanse and brighten skin, the honey will help moisturise it and maintain the right balance.
Mix 2 tablespoons honey with tablespoon lemon juice and coat your face with this mixture. Gently massage your skin with it and let it get absorbed for about 5 to 10 minutes. Rinse it off with water.
Step#2 of this routine is Toning
Toner is very important for oily skin , as it will replenish your skin with antioxidants and calming ingredients, minimize the appearance of enlarged pores and remove any residues of makeup or dirt that could possibly clog the pores.
You can use an alcohol free toner, that is rich in salicylic acid, or you can make your own toner using apple cider vinegar
Mix 1 part of apple cider vinegar with 2 parts of distilled water, and 1 part of rose water
Shake it well, and your toner is ready
Step#3 of this routine is, Serum application
Only great ingredient you can include in your regiment is the powerful antioxidant niacinamide that helps out with the appearance of enlarged pores, while also soothing and calming the skin and providing anti-aging benefits.
You can choose a good serum, with 10% niacinamide, and dab it on your face
Last step of this routine is, moisturization and sun protection
Apply a thin layer of water based moisturiser on your face, and let it absorb in your skin
At last apply sunscreen on your face, and your routine is done
