In this article, we’ll explore a quick and effective method using coffee to address puffy eyes. By combining coffee with the nourishing qualities of an egg white, you can create a mask that works wonders on puffy eyes and bothersome crow’s feet.
- 1 egg white
- 2 teaspoons of coffee grounds (preferably unused, as they contain the highest caffeine content; however, recently used grounds are acceptable if the coffee is fresh)
- In a small bowl, combine the egg white and coffee.
- Use a fork to beat the mixture until it becomes frothy, approximately 1 minute, creating your DIY coffee eye mask.
How to Apply the Coffee Eye Mask:
- Prepare a fresh mask in the morning, as puffiness tends to be more pronounced at that time.
- For enhanced effectiveness, refrigerate the mask for about 15 minutes if your eyes are exceptionally puffy. The cold temperature helps further reduce swelling and constrict dilated blood vessels.
- With clean hands, apply the mask around and under the eyes, avoiding the eyelids to prevent contact with the eyes. Optionally, you can apply the mask to your entire face. Wash your hands after handling the egg whites.
- Allow the mask to dry for 10 minutes. You’ll feel a noticeable tightening effect as it dries. If discomfort arises, remove the mask before the full 10 minutes.
- Gently clean off the mask using a soft, wet towel, being cautious to avoid contact with the eyes or mouth. Thoroughly wash your hands again.
- Conclude the routine with a moisturizer and a nourishing eye cream. Proceed with your makeup routine and face the day confidently.
- Discard any unused portion of the mask.
