Cost-effective and simple DIY recipe to make face toner at home
With the growing urge to perfect the skin, people have started experimenting with skincare. An alien product a couple of years back, toner can now be found in everyone’s vanity. A toner helps in balancing the pH while, hydrating the skin.

#1. Toner For Normal Skin
If you have normal skin, you are blessed.
A normal skin might have an oily T-zone but the rest of the skin is very well balanced.
To make a toner for your normal skin type, you will need:
- 1 cup of green tea and
- 1/4 cup of apple cider vinegar
- Take a spray bottle, add the green tea and apple cider vinegar in it.
- Close the lid and shake well in order to mix both the ingredients.
- Spritz this solution on your face and massage in a circular motion until the skin absorbs it.
- Use a toner thrice every day for best results.
#2. Toner For Oily skin
If you have oily skin, you have an excess amount of oil sitting on your skin.
This happens when the sebaceous gland produces excess oil due to clogged pores.
To make a toner for your oily skin, you will need:
- 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
- 1 peppermint tea bag and
- 1 cup of hot water
- Take 1 cup of hot water and steep peppermint tea bag in it for 10 minutes.
- Once done, take the bag out and mix it with lemon juice.
- Transfer this solution in a spray bottle and spritz some on your face.
- Massage it in a circular motion until the skin absorbs it.
- Use this toner twice every week for best results.
#3. Toner For Dry Skin
If you experience flakiness on your skin, you have a dry skin type.
Dry skin lacks moisture and also nourishment.
To make a toner for your dry skin, you will need:
- 1 cup of water
- A handful of mint leaves and
- 2 tbsp of honey
- Boil 1 cup of water with mint leaves for 5 minutes.
- Once done, take it off the flame and allow it to cool down.
- Mix honey to it and transfer it in a spray bottle using a strainer.
- Spray this mixture onto your face and massage using a circular motion.
- Use this toner thrice every day for best results.
#4. Toner For Combination Skin
Combination skin is one with an oily T-zone and otherwise dry skin.
If you have combination skin, using a toner will help in balancing the pH of the skin and fixing all the skin problems.
To make a toner for your combination skin, you will need:
- 1 cup of water
- 1 teaspoon of glycerin and
- 3–5 drops of fresh lemon juice
- Take a spray bottle, add water, glycerin and lemon juice in it.
- Mix all the ingredients really well.
- Spray this solution on your face and massage in a circular motion.
- Use this toner thrice every week for best results.
#5. Toner For Sensitive Skin
If you experience redness and irritation on your skin, you have a sensitive skin type.
Using toner for sensitive skin will help in soothing the skin while reducing the symptoms.
To make a toner for your sensitive skin, you will need:
- 2 cups of rose petals
- 3 cups water and
- 5-6 drops of chamomile oil
- Boil 3 cups of water with rose petals for 30 minutes straight.
- Take it off the flame and add chamomile oil to it.
- Stir well.
- Pour it in a spray bottle and store it in a dark place.
- Spritz this solution on your face and massage in a circular motion until the skin absorbs it.
- Use this toner thrice every day for best results.
