Clove Tomato Collagen Night Gel: For Wrinkle Free, Glowing Skin

Skin repairs itself most intensely while you sleep, making night-time the ideal window to deliver collagen-loving antioxidants and long-lasting hydrators. This gel blends eugenol-rich cloves, lycopene-packed tomato pulp, cooling cucumber juice, soothing rose water, humectant glycerin, vitamin E, raw honey, and aloe vera. The result? A lightweight, self-setting treatment that smooths fine lines, evens tone, and locks in moisture by morning.

Ingredients Required

(Makes ≈ 100 g; keep refrigerated for up to 10 days)

  • 1 tbsp whole cloves

  • 3 tbsp fresh tomato pulp (ripe, deseeded)

  • 2 tbsp pure aloe-vera gel (fresh or store-bought)

  • 1 tbsp vegetable glycerin

  • 2 tsp rose water

  • 3 tsp fresh cucumber juice (strained)

  • 1 capsule vitamin E oil (400 IU)

  • 1 tsp raw honey

  • Optional boost: 5 drops green-tea extract for extra polyphenols

Procedure

  1. Create a clove infusion

    • Lightly crush the cloves and simmer them in 4 tbsp distilled water for 3 minutes.

    • Cover, steep 15 minutes, strain, and let the liquid cool completely.

  2. Prepare the tomato-aloe base

    • Blend tomato pulp until smooth, then strain through muslin to remove fibres.

    • Whisk the clarified juice together with aloe-vera gel until uniform.

  3. Combine actives and hydrators

    • Stir in cooled clove water, glycerin, rose water, cucumber juice, and honey.

    • Pierce the vitamin E capsule and squeeze its contents into the bowl.

    • Add optional green-tea extract, mixing slowly to minimise air bubbles.

  4. Set and store

    • Pour the mixture into a sterilised 100 ml glass jar.

    • Refrigerate for at least 2 hours. Natural tomato pectins and aloe polysaccharides will thicken the gel without synthetic gums.

Instructions for Use

  1. Patch test on the inner wrist or behind the ear 24 hours before first use.

  2. Nightly application

    • After cleansing, pat skin dry.

    • Massage a pea-sized amount over face and neck, avoiding eyelids. A gentle clove tingle is normal.

  3. Layering tip

    • If your skin is very dry, seal the gel with a few drops of jojoba or squalane oil.

  4. Storage

    • Keep refrigerated and discard after 10 days or if colour or scent changes.

Benefits of the DIY Night Gel

  • Collagen support & firming – Eugenol combats UV-related collagen breakdown, while aloe vera encourages fresh procollagen synthesis for improved elasticity.

  • Tone-brightening protection – Lycopene in tomato helps fade mild pigmentation and guards against photo-oxidative stress.

  • Intensive hydration – Glycerin, honey, and cucumber juice draw moisture into the skin’s surface layers, keeping it plump overnight.

  • Soothing & pH balancing – Rose water and cucumber calm redness and irritation, making the formula friendly to sensitive complexions.

  • Antioxidant synergy – Vitamin E teams up with lycopene and eugenol to neutralise free radicals that trigger premature ageing.

  • Natural preservation – Honey’s mild antibacterial activity, plus clove’s antimicrobial properties, help extend freshness without synthetic preservatives.

  • Breathable gel matrix – The lightweight base forms a non-comedogenic film that reduces overnight water loss yet rinses clean by morning.
