Rosehip Clove Anti-Aging Serum: Get Rid Of Wrinkles & Age Spots

Skin naturally loses collagen and moisture with age, causing wrinkles and dark spots to appear more prominent. While many commercial serums rely on harsh actives or synthetic preservatives, botanical oils rich in vitamins, essential fatty acids, and polyphenols can deliver impressive results without irritation. Rosehip seed oil helps trigger new collagen and fade photodamage, and clove brings potent antioxidants that combat free-radical damage and help even pigmentation. When blended with barrier-loving jojoba, repairing vitamin E, and hydrating aloe vera, the duo creates a well-rounded anti-aging concentrate suitable for most skin types.

Ingredients Required

  • 2 Tbsp cold-pressed rosehip seed oil – rich in provitamin A, linoleic, and linolenic acids

  • 1 tsp clove-infused oil (see procedure) – supplies eugenol and phenolic antioxidants

  • 4–5 drops pure vitamin E oil – shields lipids from oxidation and accelerates healing

  • 1 tsp jojoba oil – biomimetic wax ester that reinforces the skin barrier

  • ½ tsp cosmetic-grade aloe-vera gel (or reconstituted powder) – delivers polysaccharides that plump and soothe

Optional boosters: 2 drops frankincense essential oil for extra wrinkle-fighting terpenes; 1 drop geranium oil to support tone balancing. Always dilute properly.

Procedure

  1. Make a mild clove infusion
Light infusion method: Lightly crush ½ tsp whole cloves with a mortar. Warm 1 Tbsp jojoba oil in a double boiler to about 40 °C (well below its smoke point). Add the crushed cloves, stir, and maintain gentle heat for 10 minutes. Cool completely, then strain through cheesecloth to remove solids. The resulting amber oil carries clove’s active eugenol without the irritation risk of raw essential oil.

  2. Blend the serum base
In a sterilized 30 mL amber dropper bottle, pour 2 Tbsp rosehip seed oil, 1 tsp strained clove-infused oil, and enough plain jojoba oil to reach 25 mL total volume. Add 4–5 drops vitamin E. Cap and swirl gently to mix.

  3. Thicken with aloe
Dissolve ½ tsp aloe-vera gel in ½ tsp warm distilled water, whisking until lump-free. Funnel this micro-gel into the oil blend; shake vigorously for 60 seconds to create a light biphasic emulsion. (Shake before each use.)

  4. Optional scent/actives
Add your chosen essential-oil boosters. Keep total essential-oil concentration at or below 1 % to stay skin-safe.

Instructions for Use

  1. Patch test first Apply a pea-size amount to the inner forearm for 24 hours to rule out sensitivity.

  2. Nightly application After cleansing and (if desired) a hydrating toner, shake the bottle. Dispense 3–4 drops onto fingertips.

  3. Press & glide Warm between palms, then gently press into face and neck, avoiding the immediate eye area. Massage upward until absorbed.

  4. Seal or layer Dry skins can seal with a light cream; oily skins can use the serum alone.

  5. Storage Keep the bottle in a cool, dark place. Use within 3 months for maximum potency; vitamin E slows oxidation but does not eliminate it entirely.

Benefits of This DIY Serum

  • Collagen stimulation & wrinkle smoothing – Rosehip seed oil’s natural provitamin A helps thicken the dermal layer and soften fine lines.

  • Spot fading & even tone – Clove’s eugenol and flavonoids gently balance melanin, gradually lightening hyperpigmentation and age spots.

  • Deep antioxidant defense – Vitamin E teams with carotenoids to neutralize UV-induced free radicals that speed up aging.

  • Moisture retention & barrier repair – Jojoba’s wax esters mimic natural sebum, reducing transepidermal water loss and improving suppleness.

  • Instant soothing & plumping – Aloe-vera polysaccharides draw water into the stratum corneum, giving skin a dewy, hydrated look and calming redness.

Use the serum consistently for 6–8 weeks and you’ll likely notice smoother texture, diminished fine lines, and a brighter, more even complexion—all without synthetic preservatives or harsh retinoids.
