2 Ingredients Face Toner For All Skin Types

In this post, I’m excited to share recipes for a few simple toners that you can easily make at home with just two ingredients. These toners are great for targeting specific skin concerns, and the best part is, they’re quick to prepare and effective!

Toner #1 – For Oily, Acne-Prone Skin

This toner is perfect for those struggling with excess oil and acne. The green tea helps to soothe and reduce inflammation, while apple cider vinegar helps balance the skin’s pH and combat acne-causing bacteria.

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup of steeped green tea
  • 1/4 cup of apple cider vinegar

Instructions:

  1. Steep a green tea bag in hot water. Once steeped, allow the tea to come to room temperature and discard the tea bag.
  2. You should have about 1/4 cup of green tea water.
  3. Add 1/4 cup of apple cider vinegar to the green tea and mix well.
  4. Your toner is ready to use! Apply it to your face with a cotton ball or spritz it using a spray bottle.
  5. Store any leftover toner in the refrigerator for no longer than 10 days.

Toner #2 – For Dry Skin

This hydrating toner is ideal for dry skin, providing extra moisture and nourishment. The rose water soothes, while the geranium essential oil adds an extra layer of hydration and balance.

Ingredients:

  • Rose water
  • Geranium essential oil

Instructions:

  1. To make your own rose water, take 1/2 cup of dried rose buds and pour 1 cup of hot filtered water over them. Let it sit for 2 hours.
  2. Strain out the rose buds, and your fresh rose water is ready.
  3. Add a few drops of geranium essential oil to the rose water for added hydration and benefits.
  4. Shake the mixture well before spraying it on your face.
  5. Store this toner in the refrigerator and use it within 7-10 days. If you have sensitive skin, feel free to skip the geranium oil and simply use rose water.

Benefits of Using Toner:

  • Maintains Skin pH: Toners help restore and maintain the skin’s natural pH balance. When your skin’s pH is balanced, it can protect and renew itself more effectively.
  • Acts as a Second Cleanser: Toners help remove any remaining makeup, dirt, or impurities that may have been missed during your first cleanse, leaving your skin cleaner and fresher.
  • Boosts Hydration: Spritzing toner on your face helps replenish moisture, and using it before applying moisturizer allows the toner to lock in hydration and enhance the effectiveness of your moisturizer.

These homemade toners are an easy and natural way to address your skin’s specific needs. Whether you’re looking to control oil, hydrate dry skin, or remove stubborn makeup, these toners are a great addition to your skincare routine!
